The Green Thumb Society of Metuchen is a volunteer-run social group connecting neighbors with a shared love of gardening.

About Us
The Green Thumb Society was started in 2019 by Lauren Beischer because she wanted to meet the people in her town who loved gardening as much as she did. The GTS is a casual group that lives on Facebook. Members post questions, share successes and memes (who doesn’t love a good meme?), swap divisions and gardening supplies, and connect with each other online and in real life! We organize local tours of local gardens, both personal and public, have small workshops, and organize potlucks at member homes. The group is run by volunteers and there are no fees to be included.
